Rakeru

A delightful little find at Hon-Kawagoe Station – a restaurant specializing in Omu-Rice. It is apparently a chain with branches in Tokyo and even Singapore! The omu-rice itself is competent, but the winner is the homemade bread with melted butter. Yum!

Odaiba

Waking up with a craving for Hong Kong noodles, I knew there were only two places in Tokyo where my need would be met – 新記 at either Sangenjaya or Odaiba. Decided on the latter as it has been a long time since my last visit.

Steamed chicken with an awesome chili sauce, wonton noodles (dry and soup), rice with spare-ribs made it necessary to take a walk around Odaiba and Shiokaze Park which was very pleasant. The sky was particularly clear.

Tokyo Typhoon

In the midst of a bit of a typhoon here. It was supposed to arrive yesterday and thought it had just passed, but … walked across the street earlier. Even with a big umbrella being blown away from me (and just across the street) I still got drenched. Still, it doesn’t seem so bad as a few years ago when we got to drag a new iMac from the taxi to the door and just about got demolished. Hopefully it clears up soon.
