The computer broke. Dead hard disk. I was horrified as I cannot survive without the machine. I got to go out and pick up a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.6 17″ and it is incredible! The only nag is the Japanese keyboard which has all the keys in the wrong places. I asked my students and found out that all the Japanese keys are useless as no-one even uses them … but it’s from and old old old J typewriter system that only very old folks use. My goodness Apple … why do you persist in this then? Is is lack of current cultural understanding???
